HD Glass – Terms & Conditions of Trade
Business Hours & Working Conditions
All pricing is based on works being undertaken during standard business hours: 7:00am–5:00pm, Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays, unless stated otherwise in writing.
Works required outside these hours (including night works, weekends, or public holidays) will incur additional labour rates, stand‑down charges, access costs, and mobilisation/demobilisation fees, payable by the client.
Site Conditions, Access & Delays
The client must provide safe, uninterrupted access to the work area, including lifts, loading zones, parking, and access equipment.
HD Glass may charge additional costs where delays occur due to:
Restricted or unsafe access
Site not being ready or not in the condition represented
Other trades obstructing works
Security delays or induction requirements
Client‑caused stoppages or rescheduling
Where delays exceed 15 minutes, HD Glass may apply stand‑down charges, including labour, plant hire, rope access, and equipment costs.
All rope access works are subject to:
Weather conditions
Anchor point certification
Safe access to roof and work zones
Compliance with WHS and IRATA/SPRAT standards
If access is restricted, unsafe, or delayed, HD Glass may apply:
Stand‑down charges
Rope access minimum shift charges
Mobilisation/demobilisation fees
Additional access equipment hire
Leak Repairs & Water Ingress – No Warranty
Leak rectification works are performed with due care to mitigate water ingress. However, no warranty is provided for leak repairs due to the nature of pre‑existing building conditions.
HD Glass is not liable for ongoing or recurring water ingress caused by:
Pre‑existing defects
Building movement or settlement
Design or construction deficiencies
Substrate failure
Deterioration of surrounding materials
Hidden or latent conditions
Works on Existing Materials – All Care, No Responsibility
Where works involve existing glass, framing, sealants, cladding, or substrates, such works are undertaken on an all care, no responsibility basis.
HD Glass accepts no liability for breakage, failure, or damage to existing components due to:
Age, brittleness, deterioration
Hidden defects
Previous installation methods
Structural movement
If existing materials fail during works, replacement, removal, and rectification costs will be charged to the client.
Removal of Existing Façade Elements
Removal of existing panels, glazing, cladding, or framing is performed on an all care, no responsibility basis. HD Glass is not liable for:
Breakage of brittle or deteriorated materials
Damage caused by prior installation methods
Failure of surrounding components during removal
Any replacement materials required will be charged as a variation.
Adverse Weather, Safety & Suspension of Works
External works are subject to weather and safety conditions.
HD Glass may suspend works where conditions are unsafe, including:
Wind, rain, storms
Extreme heat
Unsafe rope access conditions
Unsafe site conditions
Minimum charges may apply for labour, plant hire, rope access, and mobilisation/demobilisation.
Scope of Quotation
The quotation applies only to the items specifically listed.
Unless expressly included, the quotation excludes:
Engineering reports or certifications
Structural assessments
Structural steel or framing
Builder’s works or substrate rectification
Electrical, carpentry, waterproofing, or ancillary trades
Access equipment not listed
Any additional works required will be treated as a variation.
Variations & Latent Conditions
A variation applies where:
The scope changes
Additional works are required due to hidden or latent conditions
Quantities differ from those reasonably anticipated
Access requirements change
Site conditions differ from those represented
No variations will be undertaken without written approval. Where urgent works are required to prevent damage or safety risks, HD Glass may proceed and charge at standard rates.
Variations are payable in addition to the quoted amount.
Warranties
Unless stated otherwise:
Materials: 12‑month warranty from completion
Workmanship: 6.5‑year warranty from completion
Warranties apply only to defects arising directly from HD Glass’s workmanship or supplied materials under normal use.
Warranties do not apply where defects arise from:
Misuse or impact
Building movement
Structural deflection
Failure of surrounding materials
Works by others
Lack of maintenance
Glass Warranty & Exclusions
To the extent permitted by law, HD Glass’s material warranty does not cover:
Impact damage
Thermal stress or thermal fracture
Nickel Sulphide Inclusion (NSI)
Building movement or settlement
Structural deflection
Failure of surrounding substrates or framing
Post‑installation works by others
Breakages not proven to be caused by HD Glass
NSI is an inherent risk in toughened glass and is not considered a defect.
Australian Consumer Law Notice
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or modifies rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
Where goods or services are not ordinarily acquired for personal, domestic, or household use, HD Glass’s liability is limited, at its election, to:
Replacement of the goods or supply of equivalent goods
Repair of the goods
Re‑supply of the services
Payment of the cost of having the services supplied again
Payment Terms
A 50% deposit is payable upon acceptance of the quotation unless otherwise agreed in writing.
The balance is payable upon completion of works or in accordance with any agreed progress claim schedule.
HD Glass may:
Suspend works
Withhold warranties
Withhold final documentation
where payments are overdue.
Interest may be charged on overdue amounts at a reasonable commercial rate.
Risk, Title & Ownership
Materials supplied by HD Glass remain the property of HD Glass until full payment is received.
Risk in materials passes to the client upon delivery or installation, whichever occurs first.
Cancellation, Rescheduling & Minimum Charges
Where the client cancels or reschedules works with less than 48 hours’ notice, HD Glass may charge:
Labour costs
Access equipment hire
Rope access costs
Mobilisation/demobilisation fees
If HD Glass attends site and works cannot proceed due to client‑related issues, minimum call‑out charges apply.
Authority to Proceed
The client warrants that they have the authority to approve works on behalf of:
The Body Corporate
The Lot Owner
The Insurer
The Committee
HD Glass is not responsible for disputes between parties regarding payment or authorisation
Make‑Safe Works
Make‑safe works are performed to stabilise, secure, or temporarily repair damaged glazing or façade elements. Make‑safe works:
Are not permanent repairs
Carry no warranty
May require further rectification at additional cost
Insurance Assessment Limitations
Where HD Glass is engaged for insurance assessment:
Pricing is based on visible damage only
Hidden damage may require additional works
Insurer approval does not limit the client’s liability for non‑approved items
Any additional works required will be treated as a variation.
Access & Scheduling
Strata & Multi residential environments often require:
Lift bookings
Security access
Resident notifications
After‑hours access
Delays caused by the Body Corporate, residents, or building management may incur:
Stand‑down charges
Re‑attendance fees
Access equipment costs
General
Acceptance of the quotation constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
These Terms and Conditions supersede all prior agreements unless varied in writing by HD Glass

All works are performed by technicians certified in relevant safety protocols and advanced rope access
Guaranteed workmanship
We back our installations with a 6.5 year workmanship warranty and 12-month material warranty
